K Range

The K range is a high-performance industrial progressing cavity pump for sludge transfer. Available in block or long-coupled configuration, it can be manufactured in a range of materials — cast iron, stainless steel 304 and 316, and Duplex and super Duplex steel (SAF 2205) — to suit highly corrosive and difficult applications such as high-salinity liquids. It is also well suited to general industry, wastewater, oil & gas and marine applications.

The pin joint is a critical part of any progressing cavity pump, so Sydex designed its own to ensure exceptionally long service life — backed by a 2-year warranty on the system. By maximising the length of the coupling rod, angular motion is kept to a minimum (less than 0.5 degrees). The less the angular motion, the lower the forces and loads on the rotor end and pump drive shaft — significantly extending stator life and protecting the mechanical seal from shaft deflection.

Many K range pumps use a 4-pin joint system, where competitors use only 2. This allows the coupling rod to be supplied as a complete pre-assembled kit, making assembly and maintenance simple. The pin joint is securely sealed with an elastomer cover and protected by a metallic sleeve, and is oil-lubricated for excellent heat dissipation.

Key advantages run from robust, vacuum-hardened Sydex-machined rotors and in-house stator manufacturing to the unique Sydex 4-pin cartridge system, backed by a 2-year warranty; an extended connecting rod keeps angularity low to prolong stator and seal life, and maintenance ports with a pre-assembled connecting rod make servicing quick. In performance terms the K range covers capacities from 0.1 to 300 m3/h (0.44–1320 USGPM) and pressures up to 48 bar (696 psi) across 60 models, in both close-coupled (BK) and long-coupled (LK) configurations, with an API 676 option for oil & gas.
