Progressing Cavity Pumps for Oil & Gas
Sydex has supplied progressing cavity pumps into the onshore and offshore oil & gas industry for many years - from the Abu Dhabi pipeline project to complex offshore platforms worldwide. Our horizontal and vertical pumps are built and tested to demanding specifications, with the documentation the sector requires.
For high suction lift and low-NPSHa duties, the vertical E range API 676 pumps mount directly inside the tank, keeping the motor clear of hazardous and corrosive environments. The horizontal K range is available with an API 676 option for general transfer and produced-water duties. Pumps are tested for mechanical run, performance, NPSH, noise and vibration, and we provide documentation from simple packages to full material certification (3.1b, radiography, dye penetrant). API 682 cartridge seals and API plan seal systems are available.
The challenge
Oil & gas duties are unforgiving: high suction lifts and low NPSHa, hazardous and corrosive media, and a level of documentation and traceability few other sectors demand. Getting any of these wrong is expensive, and often unsafe.
