Progressing cavity positive-displacement pumps

Torqueflow-Sydex has been successfully supplying progressing cavity pumps [pc pumps] into the on-shore and off-shore oil and gas industry for many years. Our pumps have been supplied to very high specifications, including Super Duplex stainless steel [1.4410/SAF2207], plan 53A+B seals systems, special base-plates, off-shore coating systems and verticallly mounted pumps in excess of 10m in length. We have supplied pumps on many high profile critcical projects including the Abu Dhabi pipeline project

Documented weld procedures [WPS/WPQ], paint procedures, load calculations, noise and vibration tests, centre of gravity calculations, forces and moments are just some of data provided on these projects. And naturally certified drawings can be provided in 2D and even 3d format where specified by the customer.

Torqueflow Sydex’s range of progressing cavity positive-displacement pumps is extensive, and includes the original Moineau pump design with the stator bonded into a steel tube. Pumps can be supplied in accordance to API 676 specifications with seals to API 682 where specified.

Progressing cavity pumps are widely used in the offshore oil and gas industry. Applications include:

Horizontal progressing cavity pumps

The ‘K’ range of horizontal progressing cavity pumps is the core offering from Torqueflow-Sydex. The range is available in a wide range of materials, including cast iron, and stainless steel 304 and 316 through to duplex steel (SAF 2205), to suit highly corrosive and difficult applications such as high salinity laden liquids including produced water.

Double seal systems to API682 with flushing systems to plan 52 or 53A as required are available, particularly where there are high levels of H2S present.

Pumps can be supplied with full ATEX hazardous zone certification, or NEMA classification

Vertical progressing cavity pumps

The highly versatile vertical ‘E’ range pumps are also known as barrel emptying, vertical sump or semi-submersible pumps. Vertical pumps are suitable for numerous applications within the oil and gas, and chemical industries where high suction lifts (low NPSHa) are an issue. The pumps can be directly mounted inside a tank, keeping the motor safe from any potentially hazardous and/or corrosive environments.

The ‘E’ range of pumps is available in a wide range of materials, including cast iron, and stainless steel 304 and 316 through to duplex steel (SAF 2205), to suit highly corrosive and difficult applications such as high salinity laden liquids. Other materials including plastic are available upon request.

At Torqueflow-Sydex, we understand that customers will require high levels of documentation in the oil & gas sectors. We can provide all types of documentation, from simple packages to full material certification and testing, including 3.1b, radiography, dye penetrant and many more. Documentation packages can be supplied in both hard copies and electronically according to customer standard formats.
